Blue-tiful Tulum Wedding
at Papaya Playa Project
Papaya Playa Project Wedding | A & D
Their love for music and good conversations brought them together, and the COVID pandemic only made their bond stronger. Today, we are thrilled to share a glimpse of Ashley & David's Blue-tiful Tulum Wedding at Papaya Playa Project in Mexico, a venue known for its natural beauty and connection to music.
Despite a touch of rain, their love story unfolded beautifully. Imagine exchanging vows with the turquoise ocean as your backdrop, surrounded by loved ones under the Tulum sky. Later, the celebration continued with energetic dancing and a unique "Full Moon Musical Journey" after-party – a perfect reflection of Ashley & David's personalities.
When we asked their feedback, this is what they shared with us:
"We chose Papaya Playa Project on a full moon for our guests to experience the venue’s Full Moon Musical Journey as our ‘after party’ (and it FAR exceeded our expectations of what a wedding day could be). It was also Dia De Muertos- a cultural celebration the venue decorated for that can’t be missed when traveling to Mexico!"
What made you decide on your wedding venue?
“David and I love Tulum and Papaya Playa Project. It’s beautiful, accommodating, alternative, holistic, creative and especially full of amazing music. It’s a place that represents who we are as a couple and individuals. Not to mention the incredible rooms, service, beach and care for nature. We felt so taken care of and celebrated by their team.”
How was your experience planning a wedding in Mexico with Arlenis Ruiz Weddings?
“I’m a pretty type A person and planner and was FOR sure a type A++ bride (if that’s a thing) as far as communication and advanced planning. We weren’t sure what to expect from a wedding planning team in conjunction with that but, when we got to Tulum, for our welcome event and wedding day, we didn’t have to remember or think of a single THING other than ourselves and being present. Because we outlined every tiny detail in advance with Arlenis and Drea everything was flawless. We had a pop up storm right before the wedding and I had no idea (until afterwards) that things got wet, flowers toppled over (due to Mother Nature alone) because the team took care of it before we could think twice. Everything was dry and in its place in time for the reception!”
What’s your top advice to others planning a destination wedding?
“What helped us most was having been to our destination previously. It’s not always possible, of course, but it eased our minds and removed so many unknowns from destination wedding planning."
